1. The flyover and static aircraft display request and approval process is managed by submitting a DD Form 2535 to the U.S. Air Force Aerial Events website. All questions pertaining to the approval process should be sent to AerialEvents@us.af.mil.
. If you are unable to access the Aerial Events website, call (703) 695-9664 for assistance.
2. ***Once request is approved with approval number*** please email the SAF/PA approval number, event info, date/time, location, anticipated crowd size, and contact information to 122.FW.FW.PA.Org@us.af.mil.
3. Event approval by SAF/PA does not guarantee that support will be provided. Please watch the U.S. Air Force Aerial Events website to see if your request has been picked up by a Unit or simply wait for a phone call to coordinate the event.
*Please note flyover requests for civilian events may be limited to one of the five Patriotic Holidays traditionally supported by the service. Those events are: Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, POW/MIA Day, and Veterans Day, as well as for airshows and other aviation themed events. In addition, national-level sporting events will also be considered for eligibility. All other events will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
The Indiana Air National Guard works diligently to be a good neighbor and community partner. As a community-based organization, the 122nd Fighter Wing and its airmen are extensively involved in local community organizations and often participate in, or support, the events they sponsor.
To request 122nd Fighter Wing to participate in or support your organizations special event with volunteers, a completed DD Form 2536 (Request for Armed Forces Participation in Public Events) should be sent to 122.FW.FW.PA.Org@us.af.mil at least 30 days prior to the event.
A Public Affairs representative will review and validate the legal propriety of all public requests, and then put out a call across the organization for volunteers. Volunteers are not typically provided in an "official" capacity. The Air National Guard, as a government institution, refrains from endorsing specific organizations or events that it does not officially sponsor. Instead, it is up to the individual Guard members to decide whether they volunteer their time. Additionally, there are a number of state and federal restrictions on how we can support organizations and events.
Event organizers should also be aware that mission requirements may, on occasion, prevent our members from supporting off-base events.
